Public Informational Meeting about Reconstruction of North Main Street
News Release

The Town of Old Saybrook has developed a Preliminary Plan for the Reconstruction of North Main Street from Boston Post Road (Route 1) to the Old Saybrook Junction Railroad Station entrance. In addition to roadway and storm drainage system improvements, this plan includes sidewalks and street lights along both sides of the road.

To keep people informed and involved, a Public Informational Meeting will be conducted on Monday, September 21 at 4:00 pm in the first floor conference room in the Old Saybrook Town Hall. A copy of the Preliminary Plan is available for review in the Office of the First Selectman and in the Land Use Department.

The construction will be funded through a Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program Grant (LOTCIP) approved by the Connecticut Department of Transportation and allocated to this project by the Lower Connecticut River Valley Council of Governments (RiverCOG). The $999,900 grant includes $833,250 for construction, with the remaining amount to provide for a contingency allowance, inspection, and material testing services.

Anyone interested in obtaining further information, or providing input, may do so by contacting Larry Bonin, Director, Public Works Department, or Christine Nelson, Director, Land Use Department.
